It’s been awhile since I posted and poured my heart out in this blog. I have been very busy lately with all my work online and the blog hosting orders placed by my friends. As much as I wanted to blog, I wanted to finish all my tasks at hand. My work and business online is my family’s bread and butter. I earn my keep from the internet and I am proud to say that I am a full-pledge work at home mom since February 2008!
Honestly, I am very happy about my current work situation. I have no boss and my time is my own. I can work as much as I can and I can also sleep as much as I can. This is the career I have been wanting since the day I got married and had kids.
But working at home is not all a bed of roses; it has a sparing amount of thorns too. One of them is when emergencies strikes. Some banks and lending agencies will not grant you financial assistance because my work is not considered stable. Unlike when I was still working full time on a day job, I can easily get a payday loan from the company I am working. I just fill up a form; submit it to the HR Department and after a few days that money will be released to me. Not only from my company but there are a lot of payday lending agencies that is willing to extend help if you have a stable job.
Not all banks and other financial resources say no to people like me. There are some cooperatives and small financial lending companies that are willing to help but the problem is either the interests are so high or there are a lot of requirements like collaterals and others.
Oh well, the lack of financial services providers in case of emergencies in my current work situation is not enough for me to quit. I am sure my family and I will be able to come out scratch free in emergency cases if I just take time to plan our family’s financial blueprint and that includes savings and investment. What do you think?

That’s why I could not be passed when I applied for credit card because I don’t have stable job. But when I was working all the companies offered me that, yet I was too scared to have that, just now because I like to grabbed the opportunities to book a flight online using credit cards.
When I resigned from work, I have at least 4 credit cards and it helped us survive the first few months. Now, I only have three and I am trying to get rid of the two. I want to maintain one credit card for the same purpose as you have, to book flights online!
I don’t have cc for more than a year now, I only have dc … actually booking offline is cheaper though you just have to wait on the line .. pero OK na rin … with regards to loans.. yes.. in fact, coops have lesser interest .. they’re less evil.. lol..
was here
Indeed Mommy Vernz, lesser evil gyud. Hehehe… Anyway, thanks to my coop and credit card, I was able to bring my family on a vacation in Manila last year. For this year, I am planning to buy pigs for business!
I have many credit cards but they are all well managed. They come handy when needed.
I would want to have more but since my income is not proportional to the number of credit cards I have now, I have decided to lessen them. I am not good in handling too because I am impulsive.
this is what i like about being a blogger. i am free from those loans because they dont consider it a job. afraid that i would run away i guess..haha
So true! I guess they are afraid that I would run away from them.
With too much credit cards comes a bigger responsibility weighed on your shoulders. Yes, just having one is enough because aside from an unstable income for us work at home beauties, it can also lead to financial worries and problems in the future. The availability of speedy loans out there surely helps in times of emergencies!
That is so true Mommy Rcel. That is also the reason why I want to lessen mine.
i get tempted to apply for loans but hubby doesn’t like the idea of having credit. that is probably why we do not have credit cards. hehehe… but i guess it all depends on how we all manage our finances. so far, the only credit i have is… Avon products! hahahaha!
I have bigger plans in the future but our cooperative only favor good payers. But you can’t be a good payer if you don’t have a loan from them. So you have to loan always and be a good payer. Joker kaayo noh? Hehehehe…
awwww… one of my problems before is not being able to file for a credit card. but well, eventually it was solved. sige lang marz, we can get past this
Getting rid of my credit cards is my problem now.
But oh well, God has been good to me. I am thankful I am able to pay back whatever loans I had.
I’m so lost when it comes to credit card topic. I don’t like “utang” so I decided not to get one. No CC since birth ang drama naku but I want to keep it that way para dili matintal hehe.
Virgin kaayo ka Mommy Nitz. Pero that is good pud biya na walay utang.
When times are rough glad to know that we have somebody to rely on like this payday loan. This will helps a lot in emergency too. Thank you for sharing this very information. It is very helpful
Indeed, it is always good to have someone or a company to run too if we need financial help.
Ingon ana gyd ang stay at home and work at home makarelate ko ana mommy…But its worthy to do it.
Correct! It’s worth it!
Having too many credit cards can tempt you to spend
you need to have self discipline not to overuse it . Here in the US a credit card in good standing is also helpful to build up your credit score. It is one of their basis if you want to apply for mortgage as well as in applying for bigger credit card companies.
Credit is very essential in the US especially if you want to build a good credit score.
sad reality..i also experienced applying for a separate credit card and postpaid plans after my mom decided to stop my subscriptions as supplementary subscriber from her..all my applications were rejected..
Sad but true. So far I am rooting with my cooperative to help me and some friends too.
I am thinking of going full-time with my online career too, pero i-co-continue ko pa rin ang offline business k
medyo taghirap kasi ngayon eh, makakatulong ng malaki ang na e-earn sa blogging. pero tama ka mommy minsan lang, di tayo makak loan basta2 if we need one. unlike if we are working sa isang company na ang daming loan available like rice loan, emergency loan, etc loan ehehe
I used to have 5 different credit cards and was tempted to swipe and swipe. Was in debt talaga. Then I stopped all the cards and started paying them religiously availing of the amnesty program offered by these companies. For now, 1 card nalang kasi walang amnesty. They didnt even bother sending me statement anymore.. and when I asked for amnesty – the discount is not substantial..kaya di ko binayaran pero will surely settle that to free my name na rin.. Kasi once may utang sa CC – naka tag ang name mo and when you avail for other loans like bank loans auto loans etc, disapproved na kaagad kasi your name is tagged na..
credit cards can come in handy… find one that doesn’t have too high interest and keep it for emergencies.
Credit card companies that charge too high interest – these you have to watch out for…
